The City of Oakland is seeking qualified individuals to fill one Criminalist II (Forensic Firearms) vacancy within the Oakland Police Department, Criminalistics Division.  This is a journey-level professional civilian position in the Crime Laboratory's Firearms Unit.  The laboratory is nationally accredited by the ASCLD-LAB.
 
 This recruitment is for the purpose of hiring a Criminalist II Forensic Firearms and Toolmarks Examiner.  If the number of qualified candidates at the Criminalist II level is insufficient, the City reserves the right to fill the current vacancy at the Criminalist I level and will train as necessary.
